You won’t believe what some people throw away . . . but now we are able to rescue some real gems from landfill thanks to the great people at Townmead Tip.
West London Waste’s fabulous staff now set aside good quality furniture before it’s thrown in the skips, and we pop along to collect it in our electric van, Vanessa.
Frankly, we’ve been delighted and amazed at the quality of stuff we’ve received – some benefited from a little tlc from our volunteers, but much of it was in perfect condition.
Our CEO Simon Westgarth said: “It’s a great partnership, by June 2024, after only ??
months, we’d collected ?? tonnes of furniture from the tip – and sold it on to new homes.
So next time you are at the tip, look out for the RFS sign on the right ???, you can leave donations for us there, or speak to staff and let them know you have something to donate.
Of course we also accept donations via the usual routes – dropping off at our warehouse in Twickenham and arranging a free collection via our app.
