Our Objectives
Our charitable objectives at the Richmond Furniture Scheme are as follows:
Poverty
Prevention and relief of poverty by supplying donated furniture and household goods at minimal costs to people in need.
Environment
Protection and preservation of the environment by encouraging reuse/recycling of donated furniture and household goods
Unemployment
Relief of unemployment for the benefit of the public in such ways as may be thought fit, including the provision of training, employment, work experience and volunteering opportunities.
Background
We are a local furniture recycling charity based in the borough of Richmond. Our philosophy is to help those in need in the community to access quality furniture at a reasonable price. Our doors are however open to everyone. We welcome donations of furniture that you no longer need and also hope that you will want to come and browse in our showroom.
Additionally, in support of our sustainable objectives, we run a workshop called Carousel where we give new life to once-loved furniture by repairing and up-cycling selected pieces of furniture.
We are also proud to be one of the few stockists of Frenchic eco-friendly and organic paint in London.
